Grammy-award-winning star Zakes Bantwini is making headlines after Mzansi spotted one of his alleged flashiest cars, which cost a fortune, in a now-viral video. With an illustrious career spanning years, Zakes Bantwini has fast become one of the most sought-after stars.
Over the years, he has headlined several shows worldwide and shared the stage with some of the biggest acts in the music industry.
Zakes Bantwini recently celebrated 20 years in the industry, and the sold-out event was a blast. Several artists performed at the event before he wowed fans with his unmatched flair as he performed some of his smash hits.
However, the muso was trending before the event after Mzansi spotted his alleged Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS600 in the mix. Undoubtedly, he has a soft spot for Mercedes-Benz and a fleet to show for it.
The car is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after Mercs and boasts several outstanding specs. It has a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine worth 410 KW and 730 Nm.
It has Mercedes-Benz’s 9G-Tronic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Petrolheads were quick to give his car a nod. However, fans were quick to implicate Zakes Bantwini’s alleged car price tag in the mix.
According to Mercedes-Benz South Africa, a GLS Maybach has a base price tag of R3.5 million depending on the year of manufacture and trims. However, Zakes Bantwini’s rumoured GLS600 4Matic has a base price tag of R4.3 million.
Surprisingly, there are two models within the Mercedes-Benz GLS600 4Matic line. The other one is a Night Series with a base price tag of R4.9 million. Little is known about whether he owns the car or not since he is also a Friend of the Brand, Mercedes-Benz.

On Instagram, Mercedes-Benz South Africa posted a photo of the star standing next to the beast. The German automobile posted, “Rhythm meets horsepower as Grammy-winning @zakesbantwini cruises in the vibrant new Mercedes-AMG SL 43.”
However, Zakes Bantwini also has a Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 4Matic. The car has a base price tag of R3.4 million in several dealerships nationwide.
