Trouble in paradise: Khanyi Mbau announces split from Kudzai Mushonga! South African actress and reality TV star Khanyi Mbau has officially announced her breakup with Zimbabwean millionaire Kudzai Mushonga. The Young, Famous & African star took to Instagram on Monday, February 3, to confirm the end of their on-and-off relationship.

In her heartfelt message, Khanyi acknowledged that Kudzai was a good man but admitted that he had made mistakes that ultimately led to her decision to walk away.

 

 

 

“He was a good guy, but he did some bad things. He tried everything he could to make it up to me. I did most of the grieving while we were together. I finally got the courage to leave. And of course, I wish him the best,” she wrote.

She captioned her post with a message of self-reflection and gratitude, saying:

“Give everything time… I am grateful for the experience. “

A Tumultuous Relationship
Khanyi and Kudzai’s relationship has been filled with ups and downs since they began dating in 2021.

Their first major public breakup happened that same year when Khanyi left Dubai abruptly, leaving Kudzai confused and heartbroken. The businessman had reportedly dropped Khanyi off at a salon in Dubai, only for her to catch a flight back to Johannesburg without informing him.

At the time, Kudzai took to social media to express his distress, revealing that he had been worried sick, not knowing where she was. However, Khanyi later returned to Dubai, and the couple seemed to have worked things out, appearing loved-up on Instagram and even featuring together on season one of Young, Famous & African.

Khanyi’s Advice on Walking Away from Unhappy Relationships
Following the 2021 Dubai incident, Khanyi used her platform to encourage women to leave relationships where they are unhappy. She explained that her decision to leave Dubai was not a joke, but rather an empowering message to women to know their worth.

“I was grateful to have that platform because I never spoke about this Dubai thing, people saw it as a mockery. But it was actually a statement to empower you and say know your worth. If you’re not happy in a place, never stay, leave and work things out,” she said during a YFM interview in 2021.

Since then, Khanyi and Kudzai kept their relationship mostly private, occasionally surfacing on social media. However, Khanyi has now confirmed that she has finally left the relationship for good.
