‘Skeem Saam’ dethrones ‘Scandal!’ and ‘Generations’

Skeem Saam gained more viewers than Generations: The Legacy and e.tv’s Scandal! in June.

The Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) June figures reveal that Skeem Saam is the second most-watched TV show on SABC1 after Uzalo.

The educational soapie gained 4.46 million viewers in June followed by Generations: The Legacy with 4.45 million while Uzalo gained first place with 4.9 million viewers.

E.tv’s soapie Scandal! is currently the third most-watched TV show with 3.2 million viewers. The show lost its first position and lost viewers in March when Skeem Saam debuted in the 19:30 prime slot.

ACTORS WHO EXITED ‘SCANDAL!’ AND ‘GENERATIONS’
Generations: The Legacy recently bid farewell to fan-favourite actors Muzi Mthabela, Ronnie Nyakale, and Kope Makgae.

Makgae played Mrekza while Nyakale played Cosmo and Mthabela portrayed the character of Nkosiyabo Cele.

While actors Melusi Mbele, who played Jojo and Matthews Rantsoma, Nhlamulo exited e.tv’s Scandal!

Rantsoma received a Safta nomination for his role as Nhlamulo. IOL confirms Mbele won Best Actor in a TV Soap for the popular character.
