Veteran actress Connie Chiume has passed away at the age of 72.
The star of ‘Black Panther’ died in hospital.
Chiume has graced our screens for more than three decades.
She started her career in theatre and later became a household name on mainstream television.
Chiume was well known for her role as Mamokete in ‘Rhythm City’, and appeared as Mama Sonto in ‘Gomora’.

A statement shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday revealed the veteran actress died at Garden City Hospital.
“The Chiume family regrets to inform you of the passing of the internationally acclaimed award-winning actress Connie Chiume. The family asks for privacy during this difficult period. The family will communicate futher details.”
Tributes to the late star have flooded social media timelines since the report.
