Anlia Etzebeth, the wife of Springboks lock Eben Etzebeth, was left reminiscing after watching the last episode of sports documentary Chasing The Sun 2, which aired on M-Net on Sunday 21 April.
ANLIA ETZEBETH ON ‘CHASING THE SUN 2’
Eben Etzebeth’s wife, Anlia took to Instagram to express her pride over South Africa and her husband after watching Chasing The Sun 2. The docuseries, which dived into South Africa rallying close together during the 2023 Rugby World Cup, ended on Sunday 21 April after five episodes.
Anlia expressed that the last episode brought back tons of wonderful memories from the Rugby World Cup. The Springboks, led by captain Siya Kolisi, defeated the All Blacks to become double World Cup Champions in October 2023. Anlia’s husband Etzebeth, who South Africa dubbed as “Elizabedi” was one of the most celebrated players from the team due to his contributions in each game he played.
The mom of one, expressed that she was proud of Eben and shared photos from the Rugby World Cup finale. In the photos, Anlia was pregnant with her first child. Eben and Anlia welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, in January.

“The last episode of Chasing The Sun brought back such wonderful memories!!🥰🏆 Proud of this team.. proud of South Africa, trots op my man..🙏,” she wrote.
According to DSTV, Chasing The Sun 2 is more than a sports documentary, but a celebration of South Africa and the country’s pride, diversity and more.
“Chasing the Sun 2 is not just a sports documentary – it’s a celebration of South African pride, diversity, determination, and the unyielding spirit of a nation rallying under the banner of Stronger Together,” reads the synopsis of the series according to DSTV.
RACHEL KOLISI ALSO WEIGHS IN ON THE DOCUSERIES
This comes after Siya’s wife, Rachel, also weighed in on the docuseries as she reminisced on the Rugby World Cup as well. She expressed that it was one of the most stressful times in their lives, but watching the unity in South Africa was the silver lining.
“Chasing the sun 2 has me reminiscing. Very possibly one of the most stressful times in our lives, but goodness there’s nothing like South Africans pulling together in the same direction. Love our Bok family so much ❤️,” she wrote.
Siya moved to Paris following the Rugby World Cup, when he joined Paris-based rugby team Racing 92. Rachel and their two kids – Nicholas (9) and Keziah (6) moved to Paris in August 2023.
