The Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) May figures reveal that the show is still the most-watched show on SABC2.

Zimoja reported in November 2023 that actors and crew from the soapie were left frustrated as they have reportedly not been paid since September before production break.

A source from production told the publication that actors and crew are about to lose their homes and cars due to non-payments.“We have been on a production break since September and have still not been paid our salaries from before we went on a break. We are not getting any answers, which shows that we work like slaves at the hands of someone respected in the showbiz industry.”

Muvhango spokesperson Ndumi Mdletshe refused to comment on the matter when she was contacted by the publication.
