Nompilo Maphumulo and Menzi Biyela reportedly return to Uzalo.

NOMPILO MAPHUMULO: RETURNS
The KwaZulu-Natal actress Nompilo Maphumulo, who rose to fame after landing the role of Nosipho Xulu-Gwala in Uzalo will make an appearance soon.

Bona reports that Uzalo’s public relations manager, Yvonne Siphuka confirmed in a statement that Maphumulo has started filming.

 


 

 

 

 

 
“We are thrilled to announce the return of Nompilo Maphumulo as Nosipho Xulu in Uzalo. Her comeback promises to bring heightened suspense and drama, as her character’s new storyline will be set in prison.”

“This gripping plot is sure to captivate viewers and spark conversations. She has already started shooting, and we can’t wait for viewers to see what we have to show,” said Siphuka.

Maphumulo, who played Nosipho for eight and half years bowed out of the Durban-based soapie and said:

“Forget yourself and just deliver. As I bow out today after 8 and a half years on @uzalo_sabc1 I would like to thank all you guys for the support you have given me and the love you have shown for me and my craft. It’s been quite a journey, a beautiful one.”

“Trended a number of times, cried, laughed, but most of all I enjoyed and embraced playing Nosipho. We are all going to miss her, especially me, but rest assured Nompilo is not done yet. In fact, it’s only the beginning.”

The actress exited the show with her on-screen husband Menzi Biyela, who played the role of Pastor Gwala.

HER LIFE AFTER ‘UZALO’
The Uzalo actress Nompilo Maphumulo joined popular soapie Generations: The Legacy in June 2023 as Buhle.

The soapie confirmed her role to TshisaLIVE : “Generations: The Legacy wishes to extend a warm welcome to Nompilo Maphumulo. She will play the role of Buhle, an old connection of Mrekza’s who comes bearing a life-changing reminder of his past.”

“She will be on air from 13 June and viewers can look forward to Nompilo’s easy charm warming our screens at the usual 8pm slot.”

This was after the star shared pictures of herself on the set of the show and hinted: “June 13 you are going to love her. I’ll keep you posted Ntwana Zaaaaam.”
