Miss Universe runner-up Chidimma Adetshina claps back amid fraud allegations! Miss Universe runner-up and former Miss South Africa finalist Chidimma Adetshina has brushed off pending criminal charges against her with humor and defiance. The 23-year-old model, born in Cape Town to a Nigerian father and Mozambican mother, is currently under investigation by the Department of Home Affairs for alleged fraud and identity theft.
According to reports, her mother, Anabela Rungo, allegedly registered Chidimma at birth using fraudulent documents, falsely claiming South African citizenship. Both mother and daughter have since had their South African IDs and passports revoked, and Rungo was arrested and released on bail in February.
Unbothered on TikTok
Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Chidimma has taken to TikTok to poke fun at the controversy and silence critics. In one of her videos, she posted a cryptic message:
“God is preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”
In the comment section, she did not hold back. When a user questioned which passport she was using, she sarcastically replied,
“Maybe your mom’s? I can’t even keep up.”
To another who said South Africans should “hide their IDs,” she shot back:
“Including yours, sweetheart.”
Another user questioned her identity, to which she simply responded:
“Voetsek!”
Responding to Rumors
Chidimma also laughed off rumors that her father is a Nigerian drug lord and her mother stole the identity of a South African baby.

“You still failed to bring the girl to us… show us this imaginary girl! I’m still waiting… it’s been a year,” she said in another TikTok.
Pageant Journey
Chidimma’s parents reportedly met in Johannesburg in the late ’90s and lived in Pimville, Soweto, before moving to Cape Town. After withdrawing from the Miss South Africa pageant in August 2024, she entered and won Miss Nigeria weeks later. In December, she achieved international recognition as Miss Universe runner-up.
