Remember, comparison is the thief of all joy.
When you remember how far YOU have come and learn to celebrate even your smallest of wins, you’ve won this life thing.
Too often,we allow the pressures of the world and what others are doing to cloud or blind us from the progress we’ve made.
From the battles we’ve personally won.

Own lane,own pace- zero traffic.
Ps. If you told me that I’d be living my dream now at 32 when fresh out of highschool,my mom couldn’t afford to take me to varsity,we sat in a house without electricity for the most of that year and things were just really bad,I’d probably tell you you’re lying.
If you told me I’d be living my dream when my mom and late bonus dad would drive me to gigs in a branded SECURITY VAN because we didn’t have a car,I’d tell you you’re lying.
Some days were really hard. Some days felt long but my biggest blessing is that my mom never gave up.
I started deejaying at 17.
Only got to go to varsity 3 years after my peers.
Did community radio and tv with no pay for years.
Did free deejaying gigs.
Only got my big break when I bagged Live Amp in 2017 and have been pushing and working like crazy ever since.
Black child? I am living proof that it really is possible.
As a public figure, the noise from complete strangers who don’t know you from a bar of soap can get a lot and then I look at MY REALITY. At my blessings and this beautiful life that I’ve been blessed with and I remember that there are so many who need to hear this.
To hear that they are enough and that someday? Someday it all just comes together and all the years
of suffering seem like a distant memory.
Someday, all the blessings are way more than you prayed for.
You wake up and Ka nnete nnete, you’ve become the woman of your dreams. 🥺
Till then? Block out the noise, know your truth, stick to it and put in the work ❤️
