‘It was so clean’: LaConco reveals she was ‘raised in a shack’

Reality star and TV host Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco revealed thats he was raised in a “squatter camp” near Palm Ridge in Johannesburg, via an Instagram Story on Tuesday 21 May.

Former Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) star LaConco revealed that she and her mom lived in a squatter camp in Johannesburg and she was raised in a shack. However, she affirmed that her home was so clean and each meal that was cooked with love. She explained that as a child she did not see anything bad.

The reality star, who will be starring in upcoming Real Housewives spin-off Real Housewives Ultimate Girl’s Trip, went on to say that her mom hustled to provide for her as a single mom.

“My mum and I used to stay in a squatter camp near Palm Ridge Johannesburg. She (raised) me in a shack, it was so clean and cooked (every) meal with love. As a child, I saw nothing bad. She is not a woman of words but saw how she was content and comfortable as a single mother and how (she) hustled to provide for us was important to her,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

THE REALITY STAR ON MARCHING OVER VIRGINITY
In the next Instagram Story, LaConco revealed that she was once invited to march over the culture of preserving virginity. She explained that at the time, she was able to buy herself a car and rent a flat in Durban.

“I was invited to part take in a march in Pietermaritzburg, where we were voicing that no one forces no abuses us to remain virgins. There are people still out there who dislike this culture. And would do anything to talk ill or misuse power to discourage those who love this lifestyle,” she wrote.

“It was a choice for myself, I was working as a journalist here, rented a flat in Durban, did adhock jobs and was able to buy my first car… it was so fun driving in this it was fascinating to people,” she continued.

In further Instagram Stories, she went on to note that she was a virgin even four years into dating former President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma. She revealed that they were in love, but she had to remain loyal to her values and principles.

“We then created a bumble that we lived in, people around me could tell I was in love but didn’t know with who. His circle felt my presence too, some did dig and found my pictures. Some waited until he was ready to introduce me. I was in my era of airports and hotels every week,” she wrore.

“This time of my life was a big test of being loyal to my values and principles,” she continued.
