Congratulations are in order for former actress and poet Bothlale Boikanyo who recently graduated from Michigan State University in the United States.
The 23-year-old recently took to her Instagram page to share the exciting news with her followers.
In a post filled with gratitude, she wrote: “Graduate. Officially part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Class of 2024.”
Botlhale was selected from a pool of more than 50,000 leaders across 49 countries to be part of the programme. In addition to this, she revealed that she is also the youngest fellow to represent South Africa on a global platform.
Briefly touching on her journey abroad she, jotted down some of her accomplishments.

“I leave here carrying the following diplomas with pride: Certificate of completion from The Government of the United States of America, signed by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken; Certificate of Appreciation in recognition for one’s community service contribution in the City of Lansing by Mayor Andy Schor; Certificate of completion from the Michigan State University; and Certificate of Honour that recognises my creativity given by my fellows.”
In conclusion, she wrote: “This is a testament to never stop dreaming and putting in the work!”The 23-year-old actress is well known in the entertainment landscape of South Africa. This comes after she first rose to fame after winning the SA’s Got Talent in 2012 after mesmerising South African audience with her poetic abilities.
Following her journey on the show she on to showcase her poetic abilities on multiple stages including a Springbok game. Her talents however were not just limited by her creative way with words as she later made appearances in the local eTV soapie Scandal.
