Ex-DiepCity and Scandal star Nozuko Ncayiyane becomes a sangoma!

Mzansi Magic is set to light up television screens with another offering in the form of a drama series called S’phiwo.

Zenokuhle Maseko, popular for her role on The River and Skeem Saam’s Nozuko Ncayiyane, will star as leads in Mzansi Magic’s latest drama series.


 


 

 

The show, set to make viewers travel spiritually, will air on Monday, 8 January 2024.

In a world where storytelling meets the spiritual contracts of ancestors, S’phiwo offers a unique viewpoint through the connected lives of two extraordinary girls destined to fulfil a legacy much more significant than themselves.

The premiere episode introduces Nothando, vibrant and eager to experience university life to its fullest, and Zodwa, a young sangoma whose spiritual depth and seriousness make her stand out. An unexpected rooming mishap brings their worlds together, triggering a series of incidents revealing their connection’s undeniable power.The drama intensifies with a murder mystery on campus that draws them closer to their true calling – a bond destined by their ancestors. With a cast led by Maseko as Nothando and Ncayiyane as Zodwa, along with Sabelo Nkosi as Solomzi, Ngele Ramulondi as Takalani, and Obakeng Makube playing Nathi, S’phiwo is going to become a highlight on Monday night television.

The story of S’phiwo is one of self-discovery, a battle against unseen forces, and proof that we are all connected in profound ways.

The debut season will also be available on Catch Up and DStv Stream.The channel has been on a roll and has introduced multiple TV shows like Magaeng, Icala, Kokota, and My Brother’s Keeper.

Kokota, an amapiano drama about dreams that demand to be followed, no matter the cost, occupied the 8 pm slot from 10 September.

While Icala, which was created, produced and written by Chris Q Radebe, premiered in October.

My Brother’s Keeper premiered on 23 October, with a promise of suspense, intrigue and top-tier performances. It is produced by Rhythm World, the production company behind viewer favourite Umkhokha: The Curse.

Per a previous statement, My Brother’s Keeper tells the story of a family drawn into a deadly succession battle of its own making.
