Mzansi is still reeling from the untimely and tragic loss of 30-year-old actor Mpho Sebeng.
Sebeng passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning in Potchefstroom due to a car accident.
Despite his young age, Sebeng had appeared in close to twenty productions, and his ceiling was extremely high. In 2018, he was nominated for Best Actor at the SAFTAs.
Fans and colleagues of Sebeng have been sharing their grief on social media and remembering the talented actor.
Renowned South African thespian Nthati Moshesh shared a touching memory of Sebeng, recalling an emotional scene they shot together.You reacted to my tears, and that made me cry even harder on INGOMA, the song. If I’d known that this was one of my last hugs to you, I would have squeezed you tighter, you beautiful, kind, loving, respecting young man.”
Moshesh praised Sebeng’s fashion sense, describing it as “out of this world” and expressing her love and admiration for him.
“I hope I said I love you and admire you enough. We shared screen time on Savage Beauty, Ring of Lies, Saints and Sinners And lastly, on Ingoma, the song.”
She also shared these words of comfort with the Sebeng family.
“To the SEBENG (your beloved mom) family, we are at a loss for words. We share your sorrow and grief. Thank YOU for birthing this amazing soul. South Africa mourns with you. Our humblest and deepest sympathies.
Concluding her deepfelt message, Moshesh vowed to remember Sebeng’s craft, talent, and love of storytelling.
