Sello Maake Ka-Ncube returns to Skeem Saam

Popular South African actor Sello Maake Ka-Ncube has returned to SABC drama Skeem Saam after leaving viewers on a cliffhanger over a year ago.

Sello’s character, along with his partner in crime Luke, swindled Jacobeth Thobakgale out of all her hard-earned savings and retirement funds, leaving her high and dry.

It appeared the two conmen would never be brought to justice after disappearing and clearing their traces.

However, there seems to be a bit of hope that viewers can hold on to. With police officer Rathebe back on the case and determined to catch the culprits, Sello’s character is finding it increasingly difficult to evade capture, especially with Luke hot on his heels.

Speaking to Daily Sun, he said he approached every role as if it were his first.

“This speaks directly to how great your delivery impacted the producer’s decision, among other things. I always approach every call on a role as though it’s my first.”

Sello hinted at more exciting developments for his fans this year.

“I don’t always kiss and tell. But I can promise that this is going to be a joyous ride and journey.”

Mrs Sande shares why she walked out of The Mommy Club’s reunion

In her first tell-all since walking off the stage during part two of The Mommy Club season two reunion, Mrs Sande speaks about her experience.
Sande joined the show this season as a new addition alongside Nozipho Ntshangase.
Throughout the show, viewers criticised her for being boring, with some saying she should not return if The Mommy Club is commissioned for a third season.
She might have gotten choked up by her emotions and walked off stage to compose herself during the second part of The Mommy Club’s season two reunion, but breakout reality TV star Jabulile ‘Mrs Sande’ Sande is sure she did not fare too badly in her first rodeo.

“It was not easy. I knew there were so many questions that would be directed at me because of the way some things played out on the show. During my time on the show, I was very nosey, trying to dig deep and trying to find out things. That may have rubbed people up the wrong way, but for my first reunion, I think I did okay,” she said about her experience.

Mrs Sande added: “I feel like I was targeted because of the things I said. However, everyone was shady to some degree, and because I did not want to be confrontational, I let it go.”

Mrs Sande, who joined the show alongside Nozipho Ntshangase, was criticised throughout the show for being boring. Some viewers also said she should not return if The Mommy Club is commissioned for a third season.

The 40-year-old Sande said the same Ntshangase, who made headlines this season for her marital woes, shocked her “when she came after me at the reunion”.

“I was so shocked; I could not believe it because we have always been nice to each other,” she said.

During the reunion, Ntshangase called on Mrs Sande to “own your shit” as she answered whether she and co-star Ratile Mabitsela built their friendship on Her Majesty. She ultimately broke down and subsequently had a panic attack when host Ntombee Ngcobo-Mzolo asked her why she wanted to be on the show.

Be calm, be the person that you are and don’t let situations change who you are. I am learning about myself, and this has made me introspect and these are the things I am going to carry in my every day, so it has been a great learning experience,” she said.

On how she felt about Mabitsela not coming to her defence in the show or comforting her as she came under fire for standing by her, even in her absence, Sande said she was “shocked.”

“I was expecting her to come to my aid because during the season, I was defending her, and even when I broke down, she did not comfort me,” she said. “The person who was comforting me was Mrs Mops, which I was not expecting because I said some things about her, but at that moment, she let go of everything and came by my side.”

In a heart-to-heart during one of their getaways, Mrs Mops opened up to Mrs Sade about her Waterkloof home in Pretoria almost going under the hammer. However, the conversation did not end between them and was discussed by Sande, Mabitsela and Nunurai Mudarikwa when they met for lunch.

Mrs Sande admitted that she regretted gossiping with the pair about what Mrs Mops shared with her.

“As women, we need to uplift each other, and at that moment, I did not do her right because today it’s her, and tomorrow it could have been me, so I wish I had handled that better,” she said.

Another co-star she had regrets about how things unfolded was Her Majesty, adding that they were now building a friendship and understood each other better.

“I am building a friendship with Her Majesty and Mrs Mops; we hang out outside of the show, and they have been very kind to me,” Mrs Sande said.
