Popular South African actress Winnie Ntshaba is excited about this year’s Royalty Soapie Awards. Winnie who is the founder of the annual awards spoke to Daily Sun about the purpose of the event.

“They’re celebrating excellence in the soapie world. I sat and felt like soapies are the most watched shows on TV. I mean we command an audience of 20 million daily, think about it, but we were not celebrated enough,” she said.“There are people who put in so much work, especially the crew and those who work behind the scenes. So, I thought, let’s celebrate them as well, so that they are motivated and when someone gives you a pat on the back you get motivated to do more,” she said.“We’re hoping brands, corporates and the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture will give us funding. It’s been my wish to give people money as well, not only trophies,” she said.

The awards ceremony is set for 24 August at the Heartfield Arena, Pretoria.

The song, a collaboration with Nandipha808, RIVALZ, LeeMckrazy, and Tumilemang, showcases his musical prowess.Speaking to the publication, Shaun Stylist, aka Shaun Andile Naki, said he expected the song to do well and believes it’s still going to get more streams.“Every Monday the song resonates with a lot of people on dance floors, as there’s a new party movement ‘Mogodu Mondays’. It was a great collaboration, so I expected a great reception.”

 

 

 

Shaun first attracted attention through his eccentric dress sense, which matches his lively, dynamic personality.

“Remember Manje Monday is more a reality that says you can do anything Manje [now], anything you can do. So Monday is a boy’s holiday, it’s so for everyone. We’ve started taking the song to activation. We had an event at Zone 6 where the song was welcomed. We aren’t celebrating but hosting activations for the people who streamed and downloaded the song.”Shaun said Manje Monday is a celebration of togetherness and festivity and recognizing Mogodu Mondays culture.

“I did a lot in shaping the fashion culture in the country. My name became a brand before I got into music. I feel I have cemented my foundation in the music scene as a DJ and I want to focus on production, learn how songs are recorded,” he said.
