Remember Bongani Fassie? This Is What He Is Doing Now.

Have you been wondering where is Bongani Fassie and what he is doing with his life?

In case you forgot him, Bongani Fassie who is 36 years old, is the son of late singer and legend Brenda Fassie. Till this day Mzansi listens to Brenda Fassie’s music and with the massive fame acquired by his mom, it put a lot of pressure on Bongani. He worked on some music but felt like his mother’s shoes were to big to fill.

After his mother passed away, he fell into a dark depression, contemplated suicide and got heavily involved with drugs and alcohol to cope. He then took a break from music six years ago to heal and focus on being a father of three children. And currently he is changing his life for the best and is on step four of his 12 step program to be completely clean from drugs.

Bongani has been away from the limelight for a long time and clearly he was missed. Bongani has been given the opportunity to set the record straight about everything, how his mother passed away, he claims that it was not due to a drug overdose like most people speculated and he is going to address everything we didn’t know about his life.

Bongani Fassie is finding his way back into the entertainment industry and has his own reality TV show that was aired last year on DSTV, Moja Love Channel. Hopefully we get to see more of him in the limelight.

BEHIND THE BEEF
It’s no secret that Da LES and Bongani Fassie have had a strained relationship since their days in Jozi. Their bad blood emanates from a dispute over their record label, Ghetto Ruff, which Bongani prematurely left.

Speaking to MacG’s Podcast and Chill in 2020, Da LES said his move soured their friendship.

He said: “I decided to stay to finish the contract. He felt I may have broken his heart for choosing to stay with the label; I should’ve been riding with him.

“My pain started to occur when I was like, damn, this guy brought me into this sh*t, and he’s not listening to me. When he left a lot of pressure was on me.

In 2021, Da LES revealed in a Behind The Story interview that he “no longer answers” Bongani’s phone calls.

He said, “Where I’m at in my life is completely different from where I was, mind, body, and soul. It’s nothing personal. I always have the utmost love and respect for [him]. I wouldn’t be where I am today without his help.”Fast forward a few months, and Da LES would tell Lasizwe’s Drink or Tell The Truth YouTube show that he “never” wanted to work with Bongani professionally again.

He said: “I just surpassed that stage in my life…Over the years, there has just been a lot of back and forths and a lot of lies and at some point in your life as a grown-up, you need to be able to say ‘You know what, I am okay. I will catch you, and I am not shy to say it, it is what it is. Let’s keep the energy like that.”

Maps Maponyane reportedly set to marry ex-Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida

Popular South African television personality Maps Maponyane is reportedly set to tie the knot with former Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida.

It is alleged the couple are set to take the big step. The couple have been romantically linked since 2022.

Both Shudufhadzo and Maps are reportedly currently in the Seychelles, enjoying a luxurious tropical holiday.

Sources close to the couple suggest that a delegation has been sent to the village of Ha-Masia in Limpopo to ask for Shudufhadzo’s hand in marriage.

“Maps is serious about building a family unit with Shudufhadzo and he has contemplating on his decision for a while now, and it’s finally here. He can’t hide his intentions any longer as wedding bells are looming,” a source said.

Another source said: “His decision was made during their attendance at the HollywoodBets Durban July a few weeks ago. They have everything going for them in their careers.”

When pressed for comment by the publication, Maps didn’t confirm nor deny the allegations. He said: “You put me on the spot, you know I don’t like talking about my private life in the media (laughing). The thing is that I’m busy with my workout at the gym, hence I can’t talk properly (laughing).”

Home Affairs finally set the record straight on Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina’s citizenship

The Department of Home Affairs has cleared up the confusion surrounding Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina, whose nationality has been questioned.

Since revealing that her father is Nigerian and her mother is a South African with Mozambican roots, the 23-year-old has been victimized by angry pageant fans who believe she should not win or represent South Africa. On social media, various high-profile figures, including Prince Kaybee, Pearl Thusi, Gayton McKenzie, Herman Mashaba, and Julius Malema, have shared their comments on the scandal.

Speaking to Clement Manyathela on 702, Home Affairs Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza attempted to set the record straight on Chidimma Adetshina and questions over her citizenship.Nzuza began by claiming that he was not at liberty to publicly reveal confidential information about any citizen, including Chidimma. However, he did clear up confusion on what constitutes citizenship, which, according to the Citizenship Act, is acquired by birth, descent, or by naturalization.

Chidinma Vanessa Nzuza said, “It is commonly acquired either by soil or by blood. When we say soil, it’s because you are born in that country, and then you become a citizen.

“One country which has adopted this is America, whereby if you are born there, you become a US citizen. [However], in South Africa, you get citizenship by blood. One of your parents must be a South African. Then you qualify.

He continued: “If a person suspects that there is a person who is unworthy of citizenship or might have wrongly obtained citizenship, they do have a right to come to Home Affairs, and then we investigate.“If citizenship has been obtained in a wrong way, we have taken back the citizenship and indicated that it was obtained via fraud.

“In some cases, its not the actual person, but it is the parents of that person who have obtained citizenship. When we take away the citizenship which was erroneously or fraudulently obtained, then the child also loses citizenship”.

“I’ve heard a lot of people say that if you are born in South Africa, you are a citizen. No, in South Africa, citizenship is by blood”.Clarifying, Nzuza added that a child born in South Africa to foreign parents could obtain citizenship if their parents had a permit residency.

He continued: “The children follow the status of their parents.

“If a parent is here on a permanent residence and their child is born here, then that child qualifies for permanent residency.

“If a South African mother adopts a child, then that child can become a South African.”

The South African reached out to the Miss SA organization for comment. It confirmed that both Chidimma Adetshina and her mother are South African citizens. It also confirmed that Chidimma met all the necessary criteria to enter the pageant.

The organization also declined to comment further on the social media backlash.
