Talented musician Bokang Moleli, widely known as Malume Vector, tragically passed away in a car accident on Wednesday afternoon, alongside his friend and fellow upcoming artist Lizwe Wokuqala.

Sunday World reported that Malume and Lizwe were together during the crash and a close source verified to the publication that they were in the car, though their destination remains unclear.

“It is not yet clear where they were going, but it is him and Lizwe who were in the car that I know of,” said the source.Following the tragic news and footage circulated on social media showing the aftermath of the crash, an outpouring of condolences flooded in for Malume’s family. Many also celebrated his impactful contributions to the South African music industry.

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) conferred an honorary doctoral degree upon Pitso Mosimane, on Wednesday, 25 July.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was conferred an honorary doctorate by the University of Johannesburg.

The Faculty of Health Sciences at UJ recognises his exceptional contributions to the sport and his commitment to excellence and innovation.

 

 

 

 

The SABC reports that Mosimane has served football for over 40 years and made his professional debut at Jomo Cosmos in 1982 at 18 years.

South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan and Molefi Oliphant attended the ceremony.

The SABC reports that Jomo Sono, who discovered Mosimane says he is grateful for the university’s gesture.

“I take my hat off to the University of Johannesburg for honouring Pitso Mosimane while he is still alive. Because football people won’t do it, it’s not possible, they wait for you to die. They honour you and talk all the nonsense they want to talk in your graveyard or when your box is there.”
