Popular South African actress Harriet Manamela has triumphantly returned to the screen.
After undergoing hip surgery, the beloved Skeem Saam actress took a hiatus, during which Florence Masebe filled her role from 15 May.
Harriet resumed her role as Meikie on the SABC1 show on Friday, 2 August.
Speaking to the publication, Harriet shared that her journey to recovery was challenging but ultimately successful.
“I mostly concentrated on my recovery & when I was at my weakest that’s when the Universe made me aware that my life has & will always be in my God’s & ancestors’ hands,” she said.
Harriet also extended heartfelt thanks to her fans.
“Kea leboga from the bottom of my humble heart to you my fans my supporters for cheering for me and wishing me well. Ke boile bana besho let the beat goes on, lenna ke Thabile,” she said.
In May, Harriet disclosed on her Instagram that her absence was due to surgery.
“Thank you to everyone for wishing me well even though there was no clear explanation why I had to be off the screen and production had to find a sit in for me. Your support and wishing me well humbles my heart and you all much appreciated,” she wrote.

She also expressed gratitude towards Florence Masebe for stepping in during her absence.
“To my dearest sesi Florence Masebe ‘ngwana Manamela’ as you fondly call me. You responded to the call of duty and did what you know best. Being one of SA’s powerful performers we definitely are looking forward to enjoying your episodes and your strong abilities to bringing characters to life. I humble myself before you sis Flo and say ‘Kea leboga sesi’,” she added.
