Just one year ago, Rachel and Siya Kolisi went from celebrating the Springboks’ World Cup victory together to announcing their divorce.
The family of four – who are also guardians of Siya’s younger siblings – were in France to attend the final.

A year ago, Siya Kolisi and the rest of the Springboks squad lifted the Webb Ellis trophy at the World Cup. This marked their second consecutive win as a national team.
The Boks beat their longtime rivals, New Zealand’s All Blacks, 12-11.
Siya’s wife Rachel posted a picture of their family, including the Bok captain’s siblings Liphelo and Liyema. She captioned it: “Thank you, Jesus, a miracle.”In another post, Rachel shared a picture of her embracing her rugby star spouse. She shared: “Can you imagine, with all the faith in the room, what the Lord can do?”.

Weeks before, Siya Kolisi publicly thanked Rachel for standing by him following a knee injury.
He said: “I had a lot of doubts, but she [my wife Rachel] just prayed. And then also the specialists … from the day they saw my scans, they told me this [a comeback] was possible.”
He added: “I had to believe in powers far stronger than me because there’s no way I could justify or explain how I was healing so quickly.”
BRIEF STINT IN FRANCE
Ahead of the World Cup, Rachel and Siya Kolisi packed up their life in SA to relocate to France, where the rugby star joined Racing 92 on a three-year contract.
