Burna Boy mocked over Miss Universe Nigeria scenes: ‘Dragged Mia for this’

Burna Boy has been dragged by South Africans once again after scenes from the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, featuring finalist Chidimma Adetshina – went viral.

The Nigerian artist – real name Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu – has been vocal on his views of South Africans, whom he believes are “xenophobic.”

He’s even poked fun at the new Miss SA winner, Mia Le Roux, following the pageant controversy.

BURNA BOY TRENDS AMID MISS UNIVERSE NIGERIA COUNTDOWN
Over the weekend, Miss Universe Nigeria shared a behind-the-scenes look at their preparation for their finale this weekend.

A new queen will be crowned on Saturday, 31 August, at the Eko Hotels & Suites in Lagos.

In social media posts, the public were given a glimpse of a workshop featuring all 25 finalists, including former Miss SA contestant Chidimma Adetshina.

In the pics, the finalists attended an official address by Miss Universe Nigeria organisers, posed with sponsors, and even practised their runway walks.

However, on the X app, South Africans poked fun at the scenes, comparing the competition to the Miss SA pageant. Some even dragged Burna Boy for his comments criticising South Africa and Miss SA.

So Burna Boy was bullying Mia Le Roux for this? What a joke”, posted one tweep of the Nigerian pageant.

Another added: “Miss Universe Nigeria is laughable. Why didn’t Davido or Burna Boy sponsor them?”

Here’s what others had to say…

WHAT DID HE SAY ABOUT MIA LE ROUX?
On his X account earlier this month, Burna Boy reacted to Mia Le Roux’s crowning as Miss SA. Like many Nigerians, the artist has poked fun at the local pageant, naming a white woman the face of the competition.

He tweeted alongside a pic of Mia: “So After ALL that,” alongside several laughing-face emojis.
