Could this be Edwin Sodi’s downfall? Business mogul set to lose R300m

Since his recent court woes, controversial business mogul Edwin Sodi has kept his private life under wraps, leaving many guessing about his whereabouts.

He seemingly had his last public appearance on Bobby Blanco’s birthday in 2023.

COULD THIS BE EDWIN SODI’S DOWNFALL?
Undoubtedly, he has been keeping it low-key since the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) went after some of his properties against his court woes.

Edwin Sodi is the co-founder of Blackhead Consulting. However, the rumour mill has it that the celebrated multimillionaire is also a director of more than 40 privately owned companies.

He has undoubtedly made a fortune from tenders, and some of them often thrust him into top trends. Edwin Sodi’s company is at the centre of two controversial multi-million tenders.

However, the two tenders, which include the R255 million asbestos contract in the Free State and the R295 Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Works, are before the courts.

Earlier this year, the NPA revealed that Sodi’s properties worth over R300 million would only be forfeited to the state if Edwin Sodi is found guilty.

Earlier this year, Bloemfontein High Court in Free State postponed the trial to 15 April 2025.

ALREADY LOSING HIS FORTUNE BEFORE HIS TRIAL DATE
Earlier this year, reports revealed that Edwin Sodi lost some properties to an auction. Surprisingly, his Morningside mansion was also listed for sale.

However, little is known about whether the R75 million mansion was sold.
