KWAZULU-NATAL LEGISLATURE STATEMENT ON THE PASSING ON OF MS ZANELE MBOKAZI-NKAMBULE
The KwaZulu-Natal Legislature sends its deepest condolences to the Nkambule and the
Mbokazi family on the passing on of Mrs Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, the founder of the
Crown Gospel Music Awards and a veteran radio and television presenter. The former Ukhozi fm presenter who passed away in the morning of the 12th of August following being diagnosed with lung cancer in May this year.
Paying tribute to Mrs Mbokazi-Nkambule, the Speaker of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Nontembeko Boyce described Mrs Mbokazi Nkambule’s passing as a huge loss for South Africa adding that she contributed immensely to building and promoting gospel music. Ms Boyce has called for more cancer awareness campaigns.
β€œWe are saddened by the news of the passing of Mrs Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule. We extend our condolences to her family, friends, Gospel Powerhouse, Ukhozi fm and the entire Gospel fraternity. We pray for them that may God give them strength and courage in this time of grief,” said Boyce.
β€œWe appreciate the work done by the South African National Aids Council on cancer awareness campaign The Pink Drive. We believe it has assisted in closing the care gap, enabling families to better care for their loved ones, providing information and educating local communities about different types of cancers and their screening methods; health rights and general health screening,” said Boyce
On behalf of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, we appreciate and are thankful for the work done by Mrs Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule for the Gospel fraternity may her legacy continue to leave on, Boyce said
