Award-winning singer Bokang Moleli known as Malume Vector passed away in a car accident in the Free State on Wednesday afternoon, 24 July.
DEPARTMENT CONFIRMS THREE MALES DIED
TimesLIVE reports that the Free State Department of Health reveals that the Sotho rapper, Malume Vector died along with two other artists in the car accident.
The department adds that three people were killed in the accident on the N1 in the Free State province.
A spokesperson from the Free State health Mondli Mvambi said their managers were informed and have attended to the scene.
“Their managers have been informed and have attended to the scene and the hospital to get full details of what happened and who was involved so that the next of kin can be decently informed,” he said.
A source tells the publication that three males died, and a female sustained a moderate to serious injury. Sunday World reports that musician Lizwe Wokuqala also died in the car crash. While it is unclear who the other male artist is.
According to reports, the other occupants of the vehicle Malume Vector was travelling in included Puleng Phoofolo.
“Three males died, a female sustained a moderate to serious injury and a male sustained a serious but salvageable injury. The bodies are at Kroonstad police station waiting for confirmation,” a source tells TimesLIVE.
It is believed the singer was travelling from Gauteng through the Free State to shoot a music video when he was involved in an accident.
@Ambitiouz_Ent rubbished social media reports that Wave Rhyder and Ntate Stunna were involved in the accident.
Ntate Stunna’s manager Bereng Matseletsele also dispelled the rumours that he was travelling in the same car with Malume Vector.
“To all concerned. This is to confirm that Ntate Stunna was not involved in an accident today. We are aware of unfounded speculation on different social media platforms.”
The South African will give an update as soon as the family releases a statement.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT MALUME VECTOR
The Lesotho-born hitmaker Malume Vector is a multi-platinum-selling artist who became popular for his hit songs Dumelang and Nobody.
He was discovered by Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2020 and earned a South African Music Award for Best Music Video of the Year in 2021 for his collaboration with Miss Pru and Blaq Diamond.
The musician left the record label in 2023 to begin his own record label titled, The Whole Time Entertainment. Lizwi Wokuqala, who passed away in the accident with him was his first artist. The pair recently released his latest single titiled, eLesotho.
