Is she South African? Mzansi reacts to Miss SA finalist Chidimma Onwe Adetshina

Chidimma Onwe Adetshina has been trending on social media as some South Africans are not happy about her inclusion in the Miss SA pageant and want her to be kicked out.

WHO IS CHIDIMMA ONWE ADETSHINA?
The beauty queen, Chidimma Onwe Adetshina who is a Miss SA 2024 top 14 finalist is from Soweto, Gauteng, according to Miss SA.


 

She is also a Bachelor of Law student at Varsity College and is passionate about sports and advocating for change on violence against woman and children and gender-based violence.

She describes herself as ambitious, confident and optimistic. Her motto is “dreams are valid when actions are taken.”

IOL reports that Adetshina was born in South Africa to Nigerian parents, while some social media users reveal that her mother is Mozambican and her father in Nigerian.

The South African reached out to Miss SA hopeful, Chidimma Onwe Adetshina before publishing.

CRITERIA TO ENTER MISS SA
The Miss SA organisation reveals to the publication that their qualifying criteria was that hopefuls had to be a South African citizen.

They also have to be in possession of a valid SA ID or passport and if an applicant had dual citizenship, they had to provide both documents.
