Actor Warren Masemola crowned the winner of ‘The Masked Singer’ season two

South African actor Warren Masemola, who hid under the tall mask of Giraffe, was crowned The Masked Singer season two winner at the season finale, aired on S3 (formerly known as SABC 3) on Saturday 29 June. Actor Warren Masemola was crowned the winner of The Masked Singer season two. The finale aired on Saturday 29 June on S3 (formerly SABC3) at 18:30. This season J’Something from Micasa, Somizi Mhlongo, Skhumba Hlophe and Sithelo Shozi served as the super sleuth detectives.


 


 

Following the semi-final, there was four masks left in the competition – Blue Crane, Owl, Giraffe and Gold. All of the masks were unmasked at the finale, of course. Blue Crane was revealed to be former Miss SA and author Shudufhadzo Musida. Owl was revealed to be actor Aubrey Poo.

Gold was revealed to be gospel singer Sbu Noah. All the detectives had a unanimous vote on the identity of Gold.

Girrafe won the competition after his electric performance of Welcome to Jamrock by Diaman Marley and was finally revealed as legendary South African award-winning actor Warren Masemola. Somizi Mhlongo, Sithelo Shozi and Skumba correctly guessed Girrafe as Warren.

In an exclusive interview with The South African, Masemola revealed that winning was everything he imagined.

“It’s everything I imagined when I signed up for the show, it feels good to win with every other thing I put my interests in, whether it’s a competition or not. And even if I’m doing it for myself, by myself I always enjoy coming out as a winner,” said Masemola exclusively to The South African.

When asked if he manifested winning season two of The Masked Singer season two, Masemola admitted he did, explaining that he put his energy into imagining the most.

“I did manifest winning because anything that I put my energy into I imagine the most. And the most for me, on this season was to win it,” he continued. While Warren won the prestigious Golden Mask trophy, another trophy was up for grabs for the detective with the most correct first guesses this season. Sithelo and Somizi shared the Golden Ear trophy.
