Sacha’s dad claps back at race classification: ‘Bunch of BS’

Nick Feinberg – the father of Springbok Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, has clapped back at an X user’s comments about his son’s race.

The Heart FM presenter has been tweeting about the 22-year-old’s South African national team’s dazzling debut over the weekend.

Sacha was one of several new faces in the squad that beat Wales 41-13 in Twickenham.

SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU’S DAD CLAPS BACK AT RACE CLAIMS
On Saturday, 22 June, the Springboks squad – featuring several new players who made their test match debut – took on the Welsh Dragons in Twickenham.

Among them was Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, whose penalty kick from almost 60 metres away blew rugby fans away.

Sacha’s dad, Nick Feinberg – a British-born Heart FM radio presenter – was in the stadium to support his son. The radio personality has been tweeting about how proud he is of his son and the hard work Sacha has put into achieving his dreams.

Interestingly, the Bok is the younger brother of Netflix reality TV star Nathan Mngomezulu. The siblings’s mother is advocate Makhosazana Mngomezulu, whose surname Sacha has hyphenated.

Nick and Makhosazana – who met in the 90s in Cape Town – have since gone their separate ways.

On the X app, Nick clapped back at a tweep who made an assumption about his son’s race.

“Wow, such a bunch of BS,” he tweeted of the post.

TREVOR NOAH AND TYLA’S RACE CLASSIFICATION ALSO SPARK SPECULATION
Like Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, South African stars comedian Trevor Noah and singer Tyla’s race has also been a talking point for the public.

Grammy Award-winning Tyla has classified herself as “coloured,” a term that many countries abroad frown upon.

While Trevor Noah has admitted to being labelled as coloured back home in South Africa, it’s not a term he would use to describe himself.

In his memoir Born A Crime, the former Daily Show host revealed he identified as black but was perceived as mixed-race due to legislation in Apartheid, into which he was born. Trevor was born to a Swiss father, Robert, and Xhosa’s mother, Patricia.

In an interview with The Current, he said, “I was a product of my parents’ crime. I was a product of them disobeying the law”.
