Celebrity couple Dumi Mkokstad and his wife Dr Ziphozenkosi Nzimande (nee Mthembu) are celebrating five years of marriage.
DUMI MKOKSTAD AND WIFE DR ZIPHOZENKOSI PEN SWEET ANNIVERSARY NOTES
In a sweet post on Instagram, Dumi – real name Mdumiseni Nzimande – marked the occasion with a picture from the wedding day.
“What can we say that is enough to honour the Lord? Here’s to five years of grace. Happy fifth Ziphozenkosi. I love you,” the award-winning gospel musician wrote.
Also reflecting on their love, Dr Ziphozenkosi said: “There is nothing in this world I wouldn’t do for you because you always go above and beyond for me. I will always make sure you feel respected, honoured, celebrated and loved. I love you.”
The young couple tied the knot on 6 June 2019. Together they have a two-year-old daughter together named Lenan’izulu, and a son born in September last year. Dumi reportedly also has another daughter named Likuwe Nzimande.
WOMEN CLAIMING TO BE MARRIED TO DUMI
While their marriage has been bliss, the couple has also had their fair share of drama. In October last year, the Mbize hitmaker’s father, Falithenjwa Nzimande, told Sunday World that there have been women claiming to be the gospel singer’s wife.
“Ever since he got married, we’ve been getting unexpected guests, and all of them claim to be Dumi’s wives or fiancés,” Nzimande said.
The singer’s father says the first woman – who claimed to be from Sandton in Johannesburg – told him that she received a prophecy from her bishop that she was Mkokstad’s chosen wife. The woman said that the artist is married to the wrong woman and that she is the right person for him.
In 2022, another woman, this time from East London, showed up and claimed she was Mkokstad’s wife. The woman also had a framed photo of herself and the musician which Nzimande suspects was shot at one of his son’s events. She was also taken to the police station for her safety.
MARRIAGE UNDER THREAT
Mkokstad told the publication that the last woman took it a step further when she was turned back by his dad and found her way to his wife’s family home in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.
“We had to find a way of sending her back to wherever she came from. I am getting worried because I don’t know the meaning of this, or if someone is behind this.
“All these incidents happened after I got married and they are threatening my marriage,” he said.
