Actress Makoma Mohale has secured a lead role in Mzansi Magic’s upcoming drama series, Queen Modjadji.

MAKOMA MOHALE TO PLAY THE RAIN QUEEN
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela reports that the talented actress Makoma Mohale will play Queen Modjadji in the series.


 

“Makoma Mohale to play Queen Modjadji. 27-year-old Makoma Mohale has landed the coveted role the Rain Queen in the eagerly awaited Queen Modjadji epic seriesm” says Mphela.

TVSA confirms that Mohale will headline Mzansi Magic’s historical drama series as the Rain Queen Maselekwani aka Queen Modjadji.

Her character is a young queen-in-waiting who brings about a golden age of peace and prosperity to the land.

Bona reports that beauty queens Shudu Musida and Ndavi Nokeri, who hail from the Limpopo province will play queens in the upcoming drama series

Nokeri will portray Muthanoni Khensani, who is one of Queen Modjadji’s wives from the Tsonga Royal Family. While Musida portrays Muthanoni Mulalo, another wife of the wives from the Venda Royal Family.

The e.tv Scandal! actress is also famously known for her roles in The River and Skeem Saam. The actress has also appeared in plays such as Too Sweet Too Bad, Fright Alah, and The Infidel.

MORE ACTORS JOIN ‘QUEEN MODJADJI’
Sunday World reports that the Scandal! actress Makoma Mohale will be joined by Skeem Saam actor Putla Sehlapelo in Queen Modjadji.

Other cast members include Wiseman Zitha who will play Mamaila and Ngelekanyo Ramulodi, who portrays Young Queen Modjadji.

DStv reveals that the series is produced by Rhythm World Productions, who’ve produced Sibongile and The Dlaminis, My Brother’s Keeper, Umkhokha: The Curse and many more. The production has consulted tribal leaders, and academic experts.

Muvhango creator, Duma Ndlovu who is the leading production says: “The earth, the elements, and the energy of humans connect in ways that are both physical and spiritual, both obvious and unseen.”

“Queen Modjadji was a living embodiment of this, and so we will explore what this royal title, and the women who’ve held it, have lived, sacrificed, lost, and achieved.”

The upcoming drama series premieres in July on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161). \
