He has starred in numerous television shows and movies, showcasing his range and skill as a performer. He is also passionate about music and has a unique voice that captivates audiences.
Early Life and Education
Siya was born on 23 October 1996 in Orlando East, Soweto. He is the son of Shadrack Ta Sello Ntsibande and the late Phyllis Sepotokele. Both his parents were unemployed, but they ensured he got everything he needed.
Siya grew up around older people, which he believes gave him a taste for music. His talents in music became obvious while in grade 6 at Sivuleleni Primary School, where he started singing.
He was also an excellent student, not only in his co-curricular activities but also in his academics.
At the age of 15, he attained a full scholarship from St. David’s Marist Inanda, a prominent Johannesburg-based private high school, to pursue his high school education. After completing his high school education, Siya joined Wits University to pursue a career in music.
However, after a few months at the university, he stopped attending classes.
He felt conflicted and decided to leave music and pursue a career in acting, even though it was a great disappointment to his parents, who saw him quit school for the theatre.
Acting Career
Siya’s acting career began when he met actress Florence Masebe, who told him he had the makings of being an actor. He took her advice and enrolled in an acting school, where he honed his craft.
He got his first acting role as Lehasa in the SABC2 telenovela Keeping Score in 2016. His mother passed away two months after he got the role due to cervical cancer.
Siya dedicated his performance to her memory and used his grief as a motivation to excel in his role.
In Muvhango, he played a cancer survivor-turned-doctor who has been in remission for three years. He falls in love with Imani Nkosi, played by Zonke Mchunu, and they take viewers through their love story.
Siya says he was excited to join the show and play the character, who is very kind, gentle, and passionate.
In 2023, Siya joined Smoke And Mirrors as Sakhile.
