Former record label executive Mhlo Gumede has addressed swirling rumours about his personal life, particularly reports suggesting his wife, singer Zandie Khumalo-Gumede, may soon accept a second wife into their marriage.
“I can’t comment on the Gumede affairs in the media, I’ve never and will not stoop so low to make premature comments on my household,” said Gumede in response to growing speculation.
The rumours claim that Nonjabulo Mdluli, the niece of late Ukhozi FM presenter and Crown Gospel Awards founder Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, is set to become Gumede’s second wife. Speculation around the polygamous arrangement first surfaced last year.

This week, social media reignited the conversation when Zandie Khumalo shared a cryptic post that fans interpreted as confirming the arrangement.
“Not me writing a song that says ‘Soze ngama endleleni ye Njabulo yakho’ and a few moments later my husband introduces a lady called ‘Nonjabulo’ to me as my sister wife and his second wife,” she wrote.
Despite the post, both Zandie and Nonjabulo have refused to comment publicly on the matter.
Mhlo maintained that his personal affairs are not for public consumption and urged the media to respect his family’s privacy.
“I don’t see why my private life is of news value — so [you] can write your story but my family affairs are off limits,” he said, adding that he’d rather focus on Zandie’s upcoming single.
