Thuso Mbedu is a natural beauty

This is Thuso Mbedu, and I wanted to share a bit of my journey with you. Growing up in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, I faced many challenges, including the loss of both my parents at a young age. Raised by my grandmother, I learned the power of resilience, determination, and hard work.

From my early days at Pelham Primary School and Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School to my time at the University of the Witwatersrand, I always believed in the power of dreams and the strength to pursue them. Taking a leap of faith, I moved to New York City to study at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where I honed my craft and prepared for the world stage.
Breaking into the industry wasn’t easy, but with perseverance and unwavering faith, I landed roles in South African soapies like _Isibaya_ and _Scandal_. My big break came with the lead role in _Is’Thunzi_, a performance that earned me an International Emmy Award nomination and a South African Film and Television Award.
Fast forward to my roles in _The Underground Railroad_ and _The Woman King_, working alongside amazing talent like Viola Davis. These experiences have taught me that no dream is too big and no obstacle too great.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that our backgrounds do not define our futures. With perseverance, hard work, and a belief in our abilities, we can achieve great things. So, keep pushing, keep believing, and trust in the journey. Your dreams are within reach.
Remember, I’m cheering for you, always.
With love and determination,
Thuso Mbedu
Stay inspired and never give up on your dreams! 🌟
