Dawn Thandeka King is a South African actress and mother of five who has also made a name for herself as a motivational speaker.
Although she has acted in several flicks, her most famous role appears to be in “Uzalo,” in which she played the role of a strong woman. She would describe the flick as one of her most exciting to date, a role that woke up the tomboy part of her.
Personal life
King is a mother of five children. She was married to Durban-based businessman Jabulani Msomi for 15 years until their marriage ended on 2017.
Career
Before King’s breakthrough in the acting industry, she was working a 9-5 job in the tourism industry around Durban. She eventually quit her job in the tourism industry to pursue her acting career and her debut in the acting industry came in 2012 where she got a role in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Inkaba. A few years later she portrayed the role of Lindiwe Xulu (Mangcobo) on a telenovela broadcast on SABC1 called Uzalo which is the most viewed television show in South Africa from 2015-2021.

Net Worth
In an industry that appears to thrive on noise, Dawn Thandeka King has not been making all the noises, especially in relation to her net worth. So the figures flying about are guesswork at best. Industry chiefs will tell you, however, that she’s among the millionaire figures in the industry. Not bad, we might add, for someone so dedicated to her work.
In a heated Instagram Live session, traditional healer Gogo Maweni has reignited her long-standing feud with fellow spiritual healers Gogo Skhotheni and Gogo Dineo Ndlanzi. The live stream, which has since gone viral, left fans in shock as Gogo Maweni made explosive statements and personal revelations, adding fuel to the ongoing tension between the women. The drama unfolded when Gogo Maweni took to Instagram Live, where she addressed sensitive issues concerning her rival, Gogo Skhotheni. During the session, Gogo Maweni referred to a recent tragedy involving Gogo Skhotheni’s child, who had passed away. Maweni’s reference was direct and unapologetic, referring to her as “that girl whose child passed away.” This bold statement set the tone for the rest of the live stream.
Explaining her reason for not engaging with Gogo Skhotheni before this, Gogo Maweni stated, “The reason I didn’t respond to her is that my father told me to remember who I am and where I come from.” This remark hinted at her attempt to rise above the feud, but her words also kept the feud alive, demonstrating that the conflict remains unresolved.
The feud between Gogo Maweni and Gogo Skhotheni is nothing new. Last year, tensions escalated when Gogo Skhotheni responded to Gogo Maweni’s claims that she had allegedly used her child in traditional rituals. At the time, Gogo Skhotheni told **TshisaLIVE**, “She spoke about my son who is sick and has been in the hospital for about 12 months. You went too far mentioning my children. Don’t disrespect me, Maweni.”
Despite Gogo Skhotheni’s clear discontent with Maweni’s comments, the tension between them has only intensified. In her response last year, Gogo Skhotheni confidently stated that she wasn’t afraid of Gogo Maweni and challenged her to settle their differences traditionally, “endumbeni,” rather than airing their grievances on social media. Skhotheni’s stance was clear: she preferred to resolve issues through their spiritual practices rather than creating online spectacles.
Hey, Skeem Saam fam! Buckle up because October is shaping up to be a whirlwind of drama, heartbreak, and some unexpected turns in everyone’s favorite soapie. If you’ve been following the tumultuous love story of Pretty Seakamela and Lehasa, you might want to grab some popcorn for this one – things are about to get spicy!
Pretty Moves On?
As we delve into the October teasers, one major theme stands out: Pretty is ready to close the chapter on Lehasa. This month, it’s revealed that Pretty, played by the lovely Lerato Marabe, will move on from her fiancé, who’s currently serving time in prison (thanks for the spoilers, TVSA!). The shards of their relationship seem to be scattered everywhere, especially after the engagement ring hit the fan last season when Lehasa (Cedric Fourie) decided to pull a fast one by marrying Khwezi, Pretty’s rival. Ouch!
According to the teasers, Pretty might be catching feelings for none other than Nkosi (Nyaniso Dzedze) – a guy who, ironically, is a friend of Lehasa’s. Talk about a plot twist! The teaser from Monday, October 28, reveals some familial disapproval when MaNtuli and Khwezikazi voice their concerns about Pretty’s new relationship. Could this be a classic case of “you can’t date your ex’s friend”? We’ll have to wait and see!

The Shocking Confession
Then, on Tuesday, October 29, things hit a fever pitch when Pretty drops an unexpected bombshell: she wants absolutely nothing to do with Lehasa anymore. This statement is sure to send shockwaves not just through the house of MaNtuli but all through the Skeem Saam universe. With Lehasa out of the picture (at least for now), will Pretty find the happiness she’s been searching for? Or will her past haunt her even as she tries to embrace a new beginning?
A Hostage Situation!
And just when you think it couldn’t get any crazier, wait for this: Pretty and Francois find themselves held hostage. As they navigate this intense situation, will Nkosi, who owns a security company, swoop in to save the day? The teasers keep us guessing, and that’s where the excitement lies!Nkosi’s Fresh Perspective
Speaking of Nkosi, actor Nyaniso Dzedze shared some insights into his new role. He aims to inspire younger viewers with a character who stands tall and doesn’t shy away from confrontation, especially when it comes to Lehasa. Dzedze’s shift from playing the “bad guy” to a more heroic figure is promising, and it’s refreshing to see someone bring a good influence to the sometimes murky world of soap opera drama.
Final Thoughts
As we gear up for October, it’s clear that Skeem Saam is not holding back! From Pretty’s heart-wrenching decision to move on, to the swirling chaos with hostage situations and the love life of Nkosi, it’s safe to say viewers are in for a wild ride. FROM ABANDONED TO INTERNET SENSATION
In 2021, Daisy was rescued by a SANParks team during a routine operation in the Kruger National Park. The little rhino was just hours old and had still had her umbilical cord attached to her.
Through the collective efforts of medical specialists and conservationists, Daisy received round-the-clock care and attention. She is now healthy and thriving.
According to Good Things Guy, Daisy befriended another orphan, a baby zebra named Modjadji.
Their story and unlikely friendship have made headlines abroad, with many calling it a “Disney movie.”
The rhino has also been sent home-made blankets from around the world, which she wears over her body during winter.
Once they are old enough, Daisy and Modjaji will be reintroduced into the wild.
