Nigerians are highly invested in this year’s competition due to the participation and withdrawal of a contestant who reached the finalist stage – Chidinma Vanessa Adetshina.

Chidinma withdrew from the pageant after been bullied, and also after a fraud case involving her mother was dug out.

Being born by a Nigerian father was what led to Chidinma’s sufferings in the hands of South Africans.

The noise was paused after her withdrawal, but social media has been buzzing since Saturday night after the Miss South African Organisers announced Mia Le Roux as the winner.

The news of Mia’s win went viral and she’s been celebrated.

However, South Africans are being crucified by Nigerians for bullying out a black contestant to crown a white lady as their queen.

Granmy-award-winning Nigerian musician, Burna Boy who has always been at loggerheads with South Africans also made his comment about the saga on Twitter.

“So after all that …” he tweeted, adding laughing emojis.

SOUTH AFRICANS DRAG MISS SA
@_Nomalungelo_M: “Mia’s been my fave since the boxing shoot because she is stunning! That, however, does not change the fact that they played in Nompumelelo’s face tonight.”

@SkolfioI: “Real because Nompumelelo was supposed to get that crown, but Congratulations Mia.”

@BoituRSA: “Nompumelelo, I’m hurt. Congratulations to Mia.”

@this_iss_raven: “Am I the only one that thinks #Mia won because of her disability? Judges probably wanted to show no discrimination against her disability. Nompumelelo was outstanding.”

@khayeLK: “Abo Thembi Seete and Lerato Kganyago kanti how do they judge? Nompumelelo was outstanding in her answers and had a perspective than the white lady.”

@Masterlui_: “#Miss SA2024 na hey. I mean I see the angle they’re going for but nah, Nompumelelo should’ve taken that crown.”

@___aphiwe: “I get the organisation’s strategy but why f*ck us up like this? It was so clear that Nompumelelo was deserving of the crown.”
