She made the remarks as she spoke about a woman who was promised R1 000 if she married a foreigner, only to receive R70.

“Our sisters are selling our country. You women are cheap, and you guys will get us in trouble,” Manaka Ranaka said.

Manaka Ranaka added, “You women are cheap. This is very disappointing because we are trying to fix the country now, but you people are bad.”

However, the award-winning actress did not hold back her words as she accused those who sell their identities as the ‘biggest problem.’ She has it that these women are cheap and always trouble the country.

MZANSI REACTS
Manaka Ranaka also talked about Chidimma Adetshina. However, since it dropped, Manaka Ranaka’s video has gained thousands of comments and reactions.

Fans were quick to flood social media with their two cents. A concerned X user commented, “These women must be arrested. Why is @HomeAffairsSA not following up on similar cases.?”

Another user commented, “It’s good that other women see this problem. The only way to stop this is for the government to scrap the spousal visa.

“Our country must not be affected by your relationship with a foreigner. South Africa benefits nothing from a marriage between a South African and a foreigner.”

WHAT DOES THE SOUTH AFRICAN SPOUSAL VISA ACT SAY?
South Africa’s economy has made the country a haven for many foreigners from struggling countries.

However, confirmed reports have that most of them have resorted to marriages of convenience to have legal documents to stay in the country.

Thousands, if not millions, have used the Spousal Visa process. In immigration terms, a spousal visa is also known as a Relative’s Visa.

However, the act allows a foreign national who is married to a South African Citizen or South
African Permanent Residence Holder to reside with him/her legally in South Africa
for a period of up to three (3) years.

The day I never thought would happen has come and gone. It still feels unreal, hard to believe, but I guess we must accept the unacceptable. Though painful, I release you Mama- thank you for your love, your lessons, your laughter and your light that you brought into every single thing you did. A legacy not easily followed but we promise to try. We will miss you and we pray that your soul rests in eternal peace. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Tim 4:7 Until we meet again… 🕊️❤️

On a somber Thursday, friends, family, and colleagues gathered at the Oasis of Life Family Church in Daveyton to bid farewell to the beloved veteran actress Connie Chiume. The atmosphere was heavy with grief as mourners came to pay their final respects to a woman whose impact on the South African entertainment industry was profound. Connie, known for her powerful performances and magnetic presence, passed away last Tuesday after a brief illness, leaving behind an irreplaceable void in the hearts of many.

Among those who came to honor Connie was actress Katlego Danke, widely recognized for her role as the strong-willed Thathi on the popular show Gomora. Katlego had the unique privilege of speaking at the service, sharing her personal memories and the special bond she formed with Connie during their time on set. Recalling their first meeting during the Gomora auditions, Katlego expressed her admiration for Connie, describing her as a “wise humble woman” who radiated strength and charisma.

Katlego’s tribute highlighted not only Connie’s professional dedication but also her nurturing spirit. She emphasized how Connie’s passion for acting was matched only by her love for her family. “You made every single one of us on set feel loved, seen, and respected – no matter the age, no matter the level of experience, no matter the role on set,” Katlego stated, capturing the essence of Connie’s character both on and off the screen. These heartfelt words resonated deeply with all those who had the privilege of working alongside Connie, reflecting the profound impact she had on her colleagues.

Beyond her impressive career, Katlego fondly remembered Connie’s zest for life. She shared stories of Connie’s infectious joy in celebrating, dancing, and bringing laughter to those around her. Despite the serious roles she often portrayed, Connie had a vibrant spirit that lit up every room she entered. Her ability to blend professionalism with warmth and humor made her not just a respected actress, but a cherished friend and mentor.

As the service unfolded, it became clear that Connie Chiume was more than just a talented actress; she was a mother figure to many in the industry, a source of inspiration, and a beacon of love. As mourners said their final goodbyes, the sentiment echoed throughout the church: Connie Chiume will be missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

‘DiepCity changed my life’ – Actor Chrispen Nyathi speaks

The South African entertainment industry thrives on talent, perseverance, and the ability to connect with audiences. One actor who has captured hearts and made a significant name for himself is Chrispen Nyathi. Many fell in love with him for his portrayal of Pastor Charleston on the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela, DiepCity. This role not only showcased his acting skills but also served as a launchpad for his career in the competitive world of television.

A Transformative Role

In a recent interview with Daily Sun, he expressed immense gratitude for the opportunities that came his way after the show. “It was what got me to where I am now,” Chrispen shared. “My face being recognized and getting the phone calls that I get now to play different roles wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for DiepCity.” His sincere appreciation highlights how significant the show was in establishing his presence in the industry.

Before his prominent role, Chrispen’s journey was much less glamorous. He recalls his early days as a background actor, spending two years in relative obscurity. “I was just someone who passed by on screen,” he said. It was a challenging period that tested his patience and dedication, but Chrispen never lost sight of his dreams.

Their words of encouragement have carried me, and by voting for me, they showed me that I’m actually an actor worth recognizing.” This message of gratitude and humility resonates deeply, especially in an industry where recognition often feels elusive.

Words of Wisdom
Chrispen’s journey serves as an inspiration to many. He encourages those who may feel disheartened in their pursuits to remain steadfast. “For the people at home feeling hopeless, just remember that whatever you’re looking for is also looking for you, and whatever is yours will never miss you,” he advised.
