It was an emotional and touching funeral service as those who knew him well remembered him as a loving, kind, and well-mannered gentleman during the ceremony held at Rhema Bible Church North in Randburg.

The ceremony saw a lot of notable celebrities, musicians, and former colleagues, the likes of Thomas Gumede, Natasha Thahane, Vuyo Ngcukana, Warren Masemola, Bontle Modiselle and her husband Priddy Ugly, Josta Dladla, Dineo Moeketsi, Mr JazziQ, amongst others. Lindi Mokoena, who spoke on behalf of the Marubini family, remembered Mpho as a leader.

“Mpho was an amazing, humble, kind, well-mannered, God-fearing man. He handled himself very well without a struggle. He was unique. His uniqueness began at the age of 12.”

Tladi Morake, who spoke on behalf of the Sebeng family, said God gave them Mpho, and the foundation laid by the family was from God.

“Mpho has run his race, and he has completed his race.”

Former Scandal! actor Mpho Sebeng’s funeral service was held at Rhema Bible Church in Randburg on Saturday, 11 May. He was laid to rest at Westpark Cemetery.

Mpho Sebeng’s mother, Nomsa joined the choir on stage for a dance before his sister, Lebogang read a message from his parents.

“Mpho, you lived up to your name, mfanam. As the Bible says, blessed is the hand that giveth. Our life is a manifestation of the scripture as I witnessed the blessing you were to the many lives, here to celebrate you. My boy, you lived dreams your ancestors couldn’t ever fathom.”

 

 

 

 

 
His parents also said they were proud of him as he lived dreams his ancestors couldn’t ever fathom and touched lives.

The Sebengs also said they did not expect to be burying him so soon. Mpho’s mother also asked her late son to come visit them and tell them what happened.

The Citizen reports that the actor died in a car accident in Potchefstroom, North West province in the early hours of Sunday, 5 May morning.

Award-winning actor Warren Masemola paid tribute to the late Ring of Lies actor and TV presenter.

“I haven’t been around and I had to fly up to come to send Mpho off with love because he was our boy. I’m really heartbroken.”

“Every time I get home from home, I get home and cry tears of happiness, the memories are so many. You will always be in our hearts,” he said.

The late actor is also known for his roles in Netflix’s The Brave Ones, and Miseducation. He also starred in Rhythm City, The Queen, The Throne, Z’bondiwe, Scandal, Hush Money and many more.
