REBECCA MALOPE: ‘I’M NO LONGER ENERGETIC’
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Dr Rebecca Malope says while she’s embarrassed about falling on stage, her late friend, Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule would have laughed if she was alive.
Malope says she couldn’t wear sneakers to the funeral. She had to show respect at Zanele’s funeral and wore high heels which caused her to trip on stage.
“The heels made me unstable even standing up. I was left with a bruised knee and twisted my ankle. I’ve been receiving text messages from friends and family checking up on me. I think I’m getting old and I’m no longer that energetic,” she said.
She looks forward to taking a rest and nursing her knee at home, using ointments to make it better.
The talented gospel singer also thanks God for the successful send-off to her late friend.
Mbokazi-Nkambule’s funeral service was held on Saturday, 17 August at the Durban International Convention Centre.
