Musa Mseleku introduces his 5th wife on Uthando Nes’thembu! Renowned polygamist Musa Mseleku has officially introduced his fifth wife, Samukelisiwe Khwela, to audiences in the season premiere of Uthando Nes’thembu season 8.
The much-anticipated episode aired on Wednesday, 22 January, on Mzansi Magic and offered fans a glimpse into Samukelisiwe’s introduction to the Mseleku family and her preparation for the unique dynamics of a polygamous marriage.

In a candid discussion during the episode, Mseleku took time to outline the challenges Samukelisiwe might face as she joins his already well-established family.With four other wives already part of the Mseleku household, Musa made it clear that Samukelisiwe would need to navigate potential tensions independently. “There will be times when you greet my other wives, and they might not greet you back. Don’t worry about that; you’re not here for them but for me,” Mseleku advised.
He emphasized that he would not intervene in disputes between her and the other wives, stating that doing so could create perceptions of favoritism.
“If I step in to comfort you, it will make it seem like you’re more special than them. You’re a grown woman, and I expect you to handle challenges on your own. Dry your tears and move on,” he explained.
A Level Playing Field
Mseleku highlighted that while he chose Samukelisiwe to join his family, she should not see herself as superior to the other wives.
“She’s not better than the others. I can see she’s brave, intelligent, and capable, which are qualities we need in this family. But she’s here to be part of the family, not to be above anyone,” he said.
He revealed that some women he had dated previously were overwhelmed by the complexities of polygamy and chose to leave. Samukelisiwe, however, has shown resilience and a willingness to embrace the challenges that come with being part of a polygamous household.
