‘I’m going through a lot’-Umkhokha star Naymaps on problems in his life

Nkosinathi “Naymaps” Maphalala, the lead actor in the popular Mzansi Magic show “Umkhokha: The Curse,” has made it clear that being a TV star does not mean he is free from problems in his life. The 35-year-old actor and musician plays the character of Mkhululi, a man of God who helps others solve their issues, but he emphasizes that his own life is not without its challenges, according to Daily Sun.

In a recent interview, Naymaps shared that he is facing numerous difficulties and is seeking divine guidance to help him navigate through them. Despite his portrayal of the revered religious leader “Zamcolo Wasendulo” in the show, Naymaps acknowledges that the true higher power is “Umoya Wasendulo,” or God Himself. This realization has inspired him to release a new single titled “Umoya Wasendulo,” which he describes as a plea for God to guide him and remain with him through his successes.

Naymaps explained that the song is a prayer, recognizing that even those who appear to be living a glamorous life are not without their problems. He emphasizes that no one is immune to struggles, regardless of their status or success. Naymaps encourages people to focus their prayers on seeking God’s guidance and presence, rather than solely pursuing material possessions or power.“Umoya Wasendulo is the Holy Spirit, God Himself. In the show, I play Zamcolo, who is seen as a chosen leader of the country’s largest religious group. Despite his revered status, it’s important to recognize that the true higher power is Umoya Wasendulo, God Himself. This song is essentially a prayer,” he explained.

Through his openness about the challenges he faces, Naymaps aims to challenge the perception that TV stars live problem-free lives. By sharing his personal journey and the inspiration behind his new single, he hopes to inspire others to seek solace and strength in their faith, even in the face of adversity. Naymaps’ message serves as a reminder that even the most successful individuals are not immune to the human experience of grappling with difficulties and seeking divine intervention.

“No one is without problems, even those who lead a glamorous life.We start by thanking God for life. With so much happening, we ask for His guidance and to never leave us, especially when success comes. While some may pray for power, cars, or houses, consider the impact if we simply seek success,” he stated
