Bigger, better? Penny Ntuli lands new job after Gagasi FM shocker

Former Gagasi FM presenter Penny Ntuli is celebrating a new job a week after revealing that the KwaZulu-Natal station pai her just R2 800 per month.

The radio star shared the good news in a social media post over the weekend.

Ntuli – who joined the commercial station in 2022 – received sympathy from the public after the shocking revelation.

According to TimesLive, the station is now considering legal action against her.

PENNY NTULI SPEAKS OUT ON R2 800 GAGASI FM SALARY
Last week, Penny Ntuli found herself trending on social media after she revealed that she would not be renewing her contract with Gagasi FM.

The weekend presenter – who joined the station in 2022 – claimed she was made a new offer, which was shockingly below industry standards.

According to Ntuli, the KwaZulu-Natal station offered her R2 800 per month. This equated to just over R700 to host the popular three-hour Sunday show.

In the video, Ntuli expressed her gratitude to the station.

However she added: “The salary of R2 800 per month on my offer letter or contract is not something I can sustain my life with.

According to Ntuli – who claimed her previous salary was “not too far off” – she took up her grievance with management. She claims she was told to “consider alternative roles instead of being on air.”

Penny Ntuli’s revelation has been met with shock by listeners of Gagasi FM, as well as the public at large. Many social media users have accused the commercial station of “exploiting” their radio talent.

Penny was not the only presenter to announce her resignation. Khaya Dladla and Hope Mbele also officially announced their departure. It’s unclear what their reasons for leaving are.

Meanwhile, Gagasi FM is considering legal action against her, reports TimesLive.

Gagasi FM business development head and spokesperson Khulekani Shandu told the publication: “This kind of thing, we cannot get into it publicly. I think it was unfortunate, but our attorney is [busy] with the matter.

“At the time [she made the statement], she was still contracted at the station. For her to go public on such matters is a breach of contract. So something like that necessitates legal action”.

NEW CHAPTER LOADING
Meanwhile, Penny Ntuli revealed that she had already accepted a new job offer in Gauteng.

Posting a picture of her flight ticket, she shared on Instagram: “There is an opportunity that has been revealed in Johannesburg… I’m going to try again on broadcasting. My new manager booked a flight ticket and said come, I will fix the rest”

In the comments section, followers were overjoyed for the young woman.
