Skeem Saam’s Toby and Ntswaki face-off in court over rape

As the trial continues, it’s become more and more evident how consent isn’t understood by people. It emerged that Ntswaki had agreed to go to Toby’s room, armed with condoms. They kissed, but after receiving missed calls and messages from her family asking where she was, she got scared and wanted to go home. However, Toby convinced her to stay, and they did the deed.

No one deserves to be raped. In fact, rapists need to be locked up for good. However, on the flip side, Ntswaki lied to Toby about being in varsity and about her age. He had no way of knowing that she was 15 and in high school. Rape is rape at the end of the day. The court has a big decision to make, and it can go either way.

Not being able to wait for the verdict, Toby’s mum Evelyn contacted the sleazy Bra Boikie to ask him for help after he had said he could make the case go away. It turns out he wants her to pay him back under the sheets. He’s a sick man who needs help.

Meanwhile, Tbose and Mapitsi are going through a financial hurdle. As a freelancer and on maternity leave, Mapitsi’s not making any money. Their son, Pitsi, is shattered after being excluded from his school’s European chess trip that he’s been excited about. It seems they might have bitten off more than they can chew by buying an expensive double-storey house as their first home.

They could’ve started small and built from there, but they just couldn’t wait to move out of Tbose’s parents’ house. Their finances are really affecting their marriage. Tbose insists on being the provider, but he’s struggling and not being open with Mapitsi.
