Mzansi is still reeling from the untimely and tragic loss of 30-year-old actor Mpho Sebeng.

Sebeng passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning in Potchefstroom due to a car accident.

Despite his young age, Sebeng had appeared in close to twenty productions, and his ceiling was extremely high. In 2018, he was nominated for Best Actor at the SAFTAs.

 

Fans and colleagues of Sebeng have been sharing their grief on social media and remembering the talented actor.

Renowned South African thespian Nthati Moshesh shared a touching memory of Sebeng, recalling an emotional scene they shot together.You reacted to my tears, and that made me cry even harder on INGOMA, the song. If I’d known that this was one of my last hugs to you, I would have squeezed you tighter, you beautiful, kind, loving, respecting young man.”

Moshesh praised Sebeng’s fashion sense, describing it as “out of this world” and expressing her love and admiration for him.

“I hope I said I love you and admire you enough. We shared screen time on Savage Beauty, Ring of Lies, Saints and Sinners And lastly, on Ingoma, the song.”

She also shared these words of comfort with the Sebeng family.

“To the SEBENG (your beloved mom) family, we are at a loss for words. We share your sorrow and grief. Thank YOU for birthing this amazing soul. South Africa mourns with you. Our humblest and deepest sympathies.

Concluding her deepfelt message, Moshesh vowed to remember Sebeng’s craft, talent, and love of storytelling.

Having heard of Mpho’s passing something in me, I short circuited. What are the words that one is supposed string together? Even now I’m seeing the posts and the changed profile pictures, but my brain is refusing to accept why it’s happening. When I force myself to connect the dots, it feels like my heart slows down and I have to remind myself to breathe. I want to find the right words but my mind has blanked. We all know how hard he worked. We all know how determined he was to better himself as a person and in his craft. We all know that she was always one of the best dressed in the room. We all know that he kept showing up for his loved ones. We all know of his big heart, that was overflowing with love. I can hear the sound of his laughter. I can see the frown lines as he zoned in, concentrating. I can see the cheeky grin. I can hear his voice when he said “Thuwowo”. TikTok content creator, Nolu Ledwaba was reportedly dating multi-talented actor Mpho Sebeng who died on Sunday, 5 May.Social media user @sanelenkosi took to X on Sunday, 5 May to reveal that Nolu Ledwaba was in a relationship with Mpho Sebeng.

Reports suggest that the actor was travelling with another person when the accident happened.The Sebeng family tells EWN that the 30-year-old died in a car accident in Potchefstroom, North West.

The spokesperson for the Sebeng family, Oupa Morake, confirmed that Sebeng died in a car crash at the weekend on Sunday morning.

“Your purpose will always be aligned with what you can do well. And it comes from somewhere there, it’s not tangible, but whatever you can do well, there’s always a greater reason for you doing it.”

The Soweto-born star also acted in e.tv’s Rhythm City as Mose, Netflix’s Savage Beauty as Bonga and e.tv’s Saints and Sinners as Nkosi Radebe.

Fans of Sebeng also remember him as a TV presenter on e.tv’s youth TV show, CrazeE.

The publication adds that Sebeng’s other interests included script writing, photography and directing besides acting.
